General Information

MULTI-TRACK SLIDING BOARD SYSTEMS

Multi-Track Sliding Board Systems

Robust multiple sliding panel systems provide proven endurance for high pressure control centres. Ideal for strategy and critical brainstorming environments. Widely implemented in communications, energy and manufacturing industries. MULTIPLE USES – MULTIPLE DESIGNS – MULTIPLE RESULTS! Multi-Track Display Systems serve as a custom designed integrated visual display environment, ideal for mission critical information access. Suited for control centers, empowering key decision-making personnel to provide rapid situation assessments and time sensitive responses. A fully relational information exhange environment. Sliding Board Display Centers dynamically link thought processes, production flow sequences and a myriad of data to information processing scenarios.

The design of large scale multi-track visual display systems require a thorough understanding of all stress points inherent in these systems. Material selection is vital for the proper functioning of the system in its entirety. Any compromising of system materials will result in unforeseen metal fatique, buckling, malfunctioning board movement and a host of collateral non-reversible system failures.

It is imperative that the user understands that boards for systems of this scale can weigh between 150 to 200 pounds and systems tend to contain fifteen or more boards! All engineering design factors in material selection and calibration is critical for the proper operation of these systems.

Systems Design

The customer should be made fully aware of the scale of these systems. Size, Shape and Weight are often overlooked as significant issues to customers when working with these systems.

The following factors should be taken into consideration.

All systems are fully secured to avoid any possibility of loads shifting.

Boards tend to weigh in the range of 150 to 200 pounds each and should not be handled recklessly.

Complete systems tend to weigh in excess of one thousand pounds, depending on the scale of the system.

The design of these systems is intended to offer the user the ease of access and use of all features of the system.

All boards role on a track system. Calibration for proper operation is very important. It is recommended that no unnecessary angular forces be exerted on these boards.

All boards come with rubber stoppers and handles for the user to move and stop the boards.

Components

Single Row of Track for Fixed Board at Rear of Unit.

Double Rows of Track for Sliding Boards. The Double Track is our standard module from which all multiple track systems have their origins.

Guide Rails are integral to all tracks.

All Tracks are of Brushed Aluminum construction.

All Sliding Boards are fitted with nylon glides and wheels to facilitate ease of board movement along a track.

Pedestal Support Legs compensate for subtle differences in the grading of flooring. Sloped floors must be offset by adjusting support legs.

Installation Site

Before actual design work begins on any large scale system, it is necessary to determine the exact location for the system to be installed within a facility. This will help the installation process and reduce the likelihood of additional costs. The following information should be provided by the customer to the manufacturer at the earliest occasion prior to system design.

What is the floor construction material?

Is there a false ceiling?

What is the composition of the ceiling?

Are there any electrical, communications, plumbing conduits hidden in the ceiling or floor areas?

Are there any HVAC ducts obstructing the installation?

Are there any I-Beams obstructing the installation?

What are the temperature, humidity and other environmental conditions where the system is to be installed?

Have you considered light fixture rerouting?

Are there any windows that will be hidden by the system and have an impact on the amount of sunlight normal working conditions tend to offer?

Any additional information is welcome.

Installation Process

The process of delivery and installation requires close cooperation between all parties involved. It is very important that certain precautions are taken to ensure that all work areas and personnel are prepared for disruptions from normal daily routines. The following factors should be taken into consideration.

Is there a loading bay?

Is there ample clearance if doors must be opened and hallways are involved?

Anticipate a minimum of three days for the installation of large scale systems.

Ensure that all electrical and other trades people have attended to alterations prior to installation or concurrently.

The installation crew would appreciate input on exact location of installation as per instructions, so that familiarity of actual spatial considerations are put into perspective.

Determine if the floors are level.

Any additional information is welcome.
